Why vote?

Voting is important so we can all have our say and have our opinions heard. In Australia it is compulsory to enrol and vote, which means you need to do it.

I want to make sure my thoughts and opinions are heard.

It’s my responsibility as a citizen.            

My community

I care about improving and having input into the decisions that impact my community.

If I'm not happy

If I’m not happy about decisions being made, I can vote for different people.

I care about Australia

Because what happens in Australia matters to me.

The laws I have to follow

It gives me the opportunity to impact the laws I have to follow.

It's compulsory

The law says it’s compulsory for me to vote. This means I have to do it.

I can tell the government

It’s a way to tell government what I would like to happen.

It’s a privilege

It’s a privilege to be able to vote. This means it is a great advantage and opportunity.

Positive changes

It’s an opportunity to make positive change in our community.
