Tenders

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) procures a range of goods and services from suppliers. These procurements are conducted in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.

Value for money is the core principle that is applied to all procurement activities conducted by the AEC. To ensure that value for money is achieved, the AEC:

• encourages competition
• promotes the use of resources in an efficient, effective, ethical and economical way, and
• makes decisions in an accountable and transparent manner.

The AEC places all open tender opportunities on the Australian Government Electronic Tender System (AusTender).

AusTender provides centralised publication of Australian Government business opportunities, Annual Procurement Plans, multi-use lists and contracts awarded valued at or above $10,000 (GST inclusive).

Annual Procurement Plan

In accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, the AEC continually updates the Annual Procurement Plann (APP). The APP is published on AusTender and contains information on significant, upcoming procurement activities.

The APP is for planning purposes only and is not a commitment by the AEC to approach the open market. All planned procurements are subject to revision or cancellation.

Invoice requirements

All invoices to the AEC must:

• be a correctly rendered tax invoice
• include the associated contract number and AEC point of contact.

All invoices should be uploaded through the online enquiry form for processing.

Preferred payment method

Upon receipt of a correctly rendered tax invoice, the AEC's preferred payment methods are by:

• electronic funds transfer (EFT) where the purchase is valued at or above $10,000 (GST inclusive), this means payments will be made electronically into your nominated bank, credit union or building society account, or
• corporate credit card under the Commonwealth General Purchase Order Conditions where the purchase is valued at less than $10,000 (GST inclusive).

If you are a business already registered with the AEC, and your business details have changed (e.g. phone number, email address) you can update your details by contacting the AEC.
