New South Wales
Named after Robert Lowe (later Viscount Sherbrooke) 1811–92, who advocated the discontinuance of the transportation of convicts to New South Wales.
Lowe covers an area of approximately 39 sq km from the Parramatta River in the north, Drummoyne and Rodd Point in the east, Croydon Park and Strathfield South in the south, Strathfield and Flemington in the west. The main suburbs include Abbotsford, Breakfast Point, Burwood, Burwood Heights, Cabarita, Canada Bay, Chiswick, Concord, Concord West, Croydon (part), Croydon Park (part), Drummoyne, Enfield, Five Dock, Homebush, Homebush West, Liberty Grove, Mortlake, North Strathfield, Rhodes, Rodd Point, Russell Lea, Strathfield, Strathfield South and Wareemba.
Wholesale and retail trades, including Sydney Markets. The area is noted for large numbers of nursing homes and private schools.
