Tasmanian Senators have been decided

The Australian Electoral Commission has announced that the count for the election of six Senators for Tasmania was completed today.

The successful candidates for the six Senate vacancies for Tasmania are (in order of their election):

  1. COLBECK, Richard – Liberal
  2. BROWN, Carol – Australian Labor Party
  3. CHANDLER, Claire – Liberal
  4. McKIM, Nick – The Greens
  5. BILYK, Catryna – Australian Labor Party
  6. LAMBIE, Jacqui – Jacqui Lambie Network

The Australian Electoral Officer for Tasmania, David Molnar, said the distribution of preferences was conducted today.

“As with all aspects of the count, the automated distribution of preferences undertaken today was open to scrutineers appointed by the candidates,” Mr Molnar said.

All 2019 federal election results are available on the AEC’s tally room.

Invitation: Declaration of the Poll

Mr Molnar said the formal Declaration of the Poll for the 2019 election of Senators for Tasmania will take place at 10:30 am on Friday, 14 June 2019 and will be held at Ground floor, 2 Salamanca Sq, Hobart.

All candidates and the media are invited to attend, and RSVPs are not required.
