The AEC is aware of reports regarding the AEC’s online enrolment check facility not being accessible yesterday.
All aspects of the AEC’s website including the enrolment check facility and enrolment forms have been fully operational all week with no outages.
Just yesterday the AEC received approximately 68,000 enrolment transactions, which compares to a daily average 4,000.
The AEC has thoroughly investigated and believes that connectivity issues experienced by a small number of people may be due to the external promotion of an incorrect website link.
It is important that people who promote the AEC’s online enrolment services direct users to www.aec.gov.au, which provides easy access to all available online forms. The promotion or use of an incorrect link could cause confusion.
