Cook residents planning to vote by post for the by-election are being urged by the Australian Electoral Commission to act now.
AEC State Manager for NSW Rebecca Main said people who need to apply for a postal ballot are running out of time.
“The message is clear – if you need a postal ballot act now,” Ms Main said.
“The deadline for applications is 6pm AEST on Wednesday 10 April, which is quite close to by-election day.”
“The earlier you apply, the better chance we have of getting a ballot paper to you in time.”

People who have already received their postal voting pack in the mail are also being encouraged to complete it quickly.
“If you’ve already applied for and received your ballot paper, please complete and post it back to the AEC as soon as possible,” Ms Main said.
As of 5 April, more than 7,255 postal vote applications have been received in Cook.
