The AEC acknowledges the Federal Court’s ruling yesterday afternoon regarding referendum voting formality.
The Federal Court dismissed an application challenging the referendum voting formality process, which has been in place for decades. As always, the AEC will follow the law.
For voters at the referendum, it remains simple – to ensure you cast a formal vote, follow the voting instructions by writing either ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on your ballot paper.
The AEC acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters, culture and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
