Time running out to enrol for the Fadden by-election

Updated: 19 June 2023

The Australian Electoral Commission is calling on all Fadden residents to check their enrolment details without delay as the enrolment deadline for the by-election rapidly approaches.

AEC State Manager for Queensland Stephanie Attard said it’s imperative Fadden residents who have recently turned 18 or are new to the area ensure they’re enrolled correctly before 8pm tonight.

“If you’re not enrolled by the deadline, you won’t be able to vote and there are only a couple of hours left,” Ms Attard said.

“If you live in the federal division of Fadden you can enrol, or update or check your enrolment details online, at aec.gov.au.”

Postal voting applications open

“If Fadden residents know they won’t be able to make it to a polling place on Saturday 15 July, it’s important to start planning for that now,” Ms Attard said.

“Early voting centres will be open from Monday 3 July, but for those people who can’t make it in-person at all, postal voting applications are now available from aec.gov.au/fadden/.”

“If voters intend to vote by post, they should apply for a postal vote now,” said Ms Attard.

“For people who need a postal vote, it’s important to apply as soon as possible and to apply directly through the AEC online.”

Voters can apply for a postal vote now on the AEC website, until 6pm Wednesday 12 July 2023.
