Northern Territory redistribution

Current enrolment quota

In accordance with section 65 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918, the Electoral Commissioner has determined the current enrolment quota for the purposes of the redistribution of the Northern Territory (NT) to be 64 786.

The determination of the current enrolment quota for the redistribution of the NT was based on enrolment numbers as at 15 October 2015, which is the date the redistribution commenced.

The quota was calculated by dividing the number of electors on the electoral roll in the NT on the day the redistribution commences by the number of members to which the NT is entitled.
Number of Members of the House of Representatives to which the NT is entitled 2
Number of electors enrolled in the NT as at the end of the day on which the redistribution commenced (15 October 2015) 129 571
Quota for the NT 64 786
Permissible maximum number of electors in a division (Quota + 10%) 71 264
Permissible minimum number of electors in a division (Quota - 10%) 58 308
The following table shows the number of electors in each division in the NT as at the time the quota was calculated.
